The way this blush shade has become the most desirable makeup product of the decade is truly inspiring for the brand of rhode. The immense success and popularity achieved makes even the biggest sceptics like me intrigued.

I find myself time and time again disappointed in blush shades that all end up looking the same - orange, reddish, too dark and ultimately like the most boring warm rosy pink.

I decided to give Sleepy Girl a go as it appeared to have an interesting cool toned undertone yet not look purple or brown which is not very common. As a pale girl, I naturally gravitate towards cooler toned blushes.

Applying and swatching Sleepy Girl for the first time did slightly disappoint me... It is yet again another rosy warmer pink that blends out to look like 90% of the blushes. So if you have fair to light skin tone - be careful to not fall for the hype of rhode blushes that do not seem to be that much different or unique.

The blush formula also did not blend as seamlessly as social media portrays, I had to build it up several times and keep blending with my foundation brush until it looked nice which is not a standard experience with for example Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush Sticks. However, the price is significantlly lower of rhode blushes which may contribute to a less advanced formulation. Overall, I made this blush work but it only started to look less warm because my foundation toned it down (I used a foundation brush which had leftover product on it).
My search for a natural cool toned beige pink blush continues as I have yet to find one. Might need to make one myself at this rate!😄
