Polyvore is one of those things that I will never forget about. It was an incredible space to express yourself through fashion and get to connect not only with fellow creators, but also fashion designers like Michael Kors or Rebecca Minkoff.
Polyvore was also my first job, my first earned money which put me on the moon so to speak from how proud I felt to have achieved something solely out of passion work.
Therefore, to this day I remember Polyvore with severe nostalgia and warmth, it was the best thing that could've happened to my teenage self! Despite all this, I also feel a lot of anger to those that decided to sell it off and essentially destroyed the only unique place for fashion lovers. There is still to this day no such website that has replaced it, which is surprising given the advancements in technology, and especially given that Polyvore flourished on collaborative work between creators and brands - it was a pioneer in today's influencer world.
I think Polyvore could've brought as much profit as any other social media does today if it still existed where brands could sponsor popular accounts to feature their fashion and beauty items in their sets. Unfortunately, that does not exist today so we will never truly know if the sale of Polyvore was actually profitable in the end.
Sooo the reason, why I decided to post all this today to approx 0.3 cells of someone that cares, is because after all these years I created two new sets using Paint. Yes, you heard that correctly, this is what we have to suffice with now in 2026.
It was the Massimo Dutti summer collection that inspired me to create a few sets.
So here is the first one which includes this incredible flowing linen and cotton mix striped shirt. I am a huge fan of loose flowy shirts that are easy to throw on with any pair of jeans, and these look like an absolute winner in this category. The model on the website also wears the most gorgeous wide leg light blue jeans that add to the flowing effect of the outfit sending the most sophisticated casual vibes. It's as if, I just threw this on to go for a beach walk in the evening after an all day of sun and book reading.

Another stunning piece are these soft leather wedge sandals in a soft cream colour. Not only do they look super comfortable due to a low heel height and a single wide strap, but also add a very sophisticated touch to this mostly casual outfit. These seem to be unavailable in most sizes now on the website, so you are truly lucky if you caught these in time!
Item reference codes from the set:
💙Striped flowing cotton linen shirt Ref. 5119/918
💙High-waist wide-leg jeans Ref. 5040/940
💙High collar trench coat Ref. 6713/331
💙Soft leather wedge heel sandals Ref. 1615/750
💙Small nappa leather shoulder bag Ref. 6914/650
💙Nappa leather belt with oval buckle Ref. 6131/676
💙Shell and stone pendant necklace Ref. 4602/824
The second outfit is a little more daring and includes pieces that I personally don't own as they come from the recent trends: bermuda shorts, sheer shirts, bomber jackets and very popular toe divider heels.
I fell in love with the idea of this outfit that could work for a weekend shopping, going out with your girlfriends, on a date or even on holiday. Such accessories like a nice belt, high wedge heels and a gorgeous white leather jacket all add a sense of modern style. A combination of whites, cream pinks and a pop of red also send a signal of someone who is confident and not afraid to play with their style.

Overall, I had so much fun putting these outfits together and made myself want these pieces even more! However, a lot of them are selling out very fast so if anything catches your eye be quick to check it out online or in Massimo Dutti stores! I may or may not have ordered some of these myself, too...
Making these sets reminded me why I loved doing it, not only does it allow me to remember that fashion and styling is fun and it should not be taken so seriously on who wears what, but also it made me feel very peaceful and relaxed. Something about a finished task or project that gives this sense of ease, and I just love it. In addition, I realised that fashion is just a way for us humans to play with something in our adult years during this very short period of a ride. So why demonise it if it allows us to feel good, express ourselves and essentially just have a bit of fun!
